This DVD introduces a new modality of working with joints developed by Jean-Pierre Barral, DO in cooperation with Alain Croibier, DO. More than 40 years of clinical practice have led to this innovative approach, which includes all the different components of a joint: muscles, ligaments, capsule & labrum, synovial fluid, inside the capsule, arteries & veins, nerves. The intention of this new approach is to add a new dimension and a series of new techniques to the many manual approaches that already exist.
This breakthrough approach uses the presence of mechanoreceptors to work with the connection between the joint and the brain. As Jean-Pierre Barral states in his introduction to this DVD, “Speak to the brain through the joints.”
More than 40 years of clinical practice have led to this innovative, holistic approach on the: muscles, ligaments, capsule & labrum, synovial fluid inside the capsule, arteries & veins, nerves, connections with the organs.
The approach that Barral and Croibier have chosen is best characterized by a sort of comprehensiveness that includes all components of the living organism. In this sense the DVD shows the detailed anatomical explanation and treatment demonstration of:
- the skin and dorsal nerves
- the various muscles within the suboccipital area
- the suboccipital nerve
- the brachial plexus
- the cervical foramina (related to disk herniation)
- the cervical dura mater
- the venous plexus surrounding the brachial plexus
This 65-minute DVD includes anatomy, physiology, theory and treatment in a very clear and concise manner to make it user friendly for all manual therapists.
